A late 18th/early 19th Century Wedgwood blue and white shell edged pearlware sauce tureen, cover and stand, stand length 25.8 cm, sauce tureen height 16.5 cm together with a basketwork ribbon plate 23 cm diameter, all with impressed marks together with two similar basketwork decorated lozenge shaped dishes (unmarked) of navette form 22.5 cm x 16.5 cm
CONDITION REPORTS
The sauceboat - the finial has been off and repaired. There is an area of restoration to one of the lobes of the saucer. All three pieces of the sauceboat have heavy consistent crazing as well as discolouration, knife marks, small chips variously throughout as well as a larger chip to the underside of the lid. The basket plate has a hairline fracture on one of the pierced ribbon areas, all over crazing, some discolouration, minor chips to the extremities. The two baskets - one has areas of restoration throughout including to the edges of the basket and where it joins the base, etc. Crazing and discolouration throughout as well as chips. The second basket has an area of the blue ribbon missing however this appears to have been done during manufacture as both of the missing edges are glazed. Some crazing and discolouration. All pieces in the lot have wear and tear conducive with age and use and are dirty and in need of a very good clean. See images for further details.
